This sweeping survey covers the historical highlights, famous faces, scandalous events, building techniques, architectural features, ornate sculpture and culture surrounding these great pillars of earth. Handouts and a beautiful slideshow illustrate the influences of churches like Hagia Sophia, Chartres, St. Denis and many more. Part 2 explores the High Gothic and early Renaissance cathedrals from 1250-1500.
