Taste of Travel Classes & Excursions
Welcome to a Taste of Travel where we indulge both your sense of Wanderlust and your passion for food. Our year-round cooking classes are taught at various recreational cooking schools in Columbus, Ohio while our Taste of Travel road trips offer unique tours-des-cuisines throughout the region. They might also be offered privately, in-house for a group of 6-12 people.
Our Taste of Travel cooking classes recreate some of our favorite dishes experienced during our travels. Each class features two or three recipes from a specific region, for example Provence, the Italian Riviera or Cape Cod. Lively cooking demos are sprinkled with a bit of history and culture. You’ll learn about the background of each dish, regional food traditions, and variations on the theme. The accompanying slideshow features a beautiful blend of food, scenery, art, and architecture- images and discussions which help to put the region and recipes into context.
Our Taste of Travel excursions range from 1 to 3 days as we explore regional food and heritage and see firsthand how each connects us with culture, community, and each other. The themed tours integrate cooking classes, market stops, and visits to sites of cultural or historic importance. Journey with us through the back roads of New York’s Finger Lakes to visit wonderful wineries; pilgrimage to Greenville for a factory tour of KitchenAid and a cooking class in their kitchen, or see the complete start to finish manufacturing of the iconic American travel caravan, Airstream followed by a vintage camp-inspired cookery class.
Experience a Taste of Travel through our year-round offerings from which we donate a small portion of each tour to a local, food-related cause. This year’s contributions go to the efforts at Hellwig Farm in Alexandria, OH.
A complete list of our current events and trips are updated on the Events page.
