Culinary Event: Jazzy New Orleans Dinner

Celebrate one of America’s famed culinary capitals with a festive sit-down dinner and cooking demonstration featuring New Orleans’ classic and seductive Low Country/Cajun cuisine. The always amazing Shawnie walks you through four traditional NOLA recipes and shows you how to achieve their delicious, familiar flavors. Explore the historical backgrounds of these famous-for-a-reason Big Easy dishes while sipping a glass of specially paired wine or beer. Dinner is jazzed up with two satisfying starters: Luscious Oysters Rockefeller – given a rich namesake for its rich sauce – and a Mini Muffuletta, a savory, meat-filled sandwich with working class roots. Cajun Andouille Gumbo is the culinary embodiment of New Orleans and definitely the star of the evening. This very special event ends on a dramatic note with the flambéing of Bananas Foster served over ice cream. Food, wine or beer, and recipes provided.
