Discover Cape Cod: Upper Arlington Library

Join travel writer and author of Discover Cape Cod, Shawnie Kelley at Upper Arlington’s Public Library (Main Branch, 2800 Tremont Road) for their adult programming lecture series.  During a 45 minute presentation, Shawnie regales you with the most captivating moments in the history of the Cape, sharing exciting stories from her recently released book along with a slideshow of beautiful pictures. Come hear tales of pilgrims and pirate treasure; revolutionaries and artists; shipwrecks and lighthouses. Explore historic homes, culinary traditions, cranberry bogs and and learn about Sandwich glass and Nantucket’s whaling industry. The seminar also includes travel tips, dining, lodging suggestions and off-beat excursions.

Discover Cape Cod brings history and travel together in ways that make exploring the Cape a rich, educational experience. From the naming of Martha’s Vineyard to the formation of the National Seashore, this book explores four centuries of history in a collection of 27 short stories with fun activities that bring the Cape’s fascinating past to life.
