“Colorful Bookseller”  |  Roadtown, British Virgin Islands

Today’s picture is of a colorful bookseller’s storefront in downtown Road Town on the island of Tortola, capital of the British Virgin Islands.

Road Town is the capital of the British Virgin Islands. Compared to its American neighbor (USVI), the BVI are smaller islands, lesser populated, and have less developed beaches. Tortola (Meaning, “Land of the Turtle Dove“)- the largest island in the archipelago- is only 14 miles long and 9 miles wide. Even though the country is under the British flag, the standard currency is US dollars.
